Höegh LNG – Strong teamwork in rapid growth
Höegh LNG is aware that growth may involve increased risk. When they were expanding their fleet with new vessels and new employees they chose to work with Blå Mediamentor to strengthen their safety culture.
The main goal is to build Höegh values and culture in a way that helps both new and existing crew work together as one strong team. This involves reinforcing the Höegh LNG culture and company values, and focusing on how to work as a team.
In cooperation with Höegh LNG, Blå developed several measures to achieve the project goal. Höegh LNG’s culture and values are communicated to all employees, both new and old crew members on board and in the onshore organization. This is done through conferences, safety meetings, introduction program to new employees and a work-book. The safety training material is gathered in what Höegh LNG calls a Safety Dashboard. The project is still in process.
Maritime Crew Resource Management (MCRM) is an important part of the Höegh LNG culture. This forms a basis for developing teamwork and creating safe and efficient operations in the company. By strengthening the focus on their company- and safety culture it functions as guideline for both actions and behavior within the organization.
