Total E&P – Martin Linge safety awareness programme
Total E&P Norway has chosen Blaa Mediamentor as a partner to strengthen the HSE work related to the connecting and testing of the Martin Linge platform offshore. The task is to develop training and communication to enhance safety.
Blaa Mediamentor was also a part of the team when Total E&P Norway started the dismantling work on the Frigg field in 2005. Although the Hook-up and Commissioning Project (HUC) on Martin Linge is about putting together and not tearing down, there are several similarities with the work on Frigg: Many people from different companies and with different backgrounds will be working closely together.
– It has been important for Total to create a common HSE culture and a common identity for everybody who will work together in the project. Everyone should know they are on the same team – the Martin Linge team, says Ola Kolnes, HSE manager in the Martin Linge project in Total E&P Norway.
Total E&P has involved both Rosenberg WorleyParsons and Technip in cooperation with Blaa Mediamentor. The outcome of the work is a training programme that will build a united safety culture with good and efficient cooperation in the Martin Linge HUC.
– The programme contains measures as e-learning, a film about HSE culture and a scheme containing weekly safety meetings. Through this, everyone involved will be prepared for the tasks that await them; the risks involved and what is expected of them as members of the Martin Linge team. Everyone should have a solid foundation before they go offshore, and we also have other measures to ensure a safety focus when the work is started, says Silje Andresen, project leader and educator in Blaa Mediamentor.
The actual Hook-up and Commissioning work on Martin Linge will begin in the summer this year, but the production of the training material is already well started.
